CIF State XC Championships Recap - Boys Division 2

The most storied distance program in the rich history of the Golden State pulled it off again Saturday at Woodward Park.

Carmichael Jesuit won its 10th state title using tremendous depth up front.

Drake Hoferer (seventh in 15:04.4), Isaac Abbott (10th in 15:04.6) and Kyle Jakarta (12th in 15:05.2) led the Marauders (73 points).

Glendora (91) and Madera Matilda Torres (105) finished second and third respectively.

JR Lesher of Hueneme had the meet’s biggest individual upset victory, coming from behind in the final mile to win in 14:43.0.

Lesher avenged a third-place finish at last week's Southern Section finals, besting section champion Griffin Kushen of Tesoro (14:44.6).
