Sunset League Finals Recap
The Newport Harbor girls and Corona del Mar boys accomplished the task at hand, easily winning team titles Saturday at the Sunset League championship meet at Central Park in Huntington Beach.
The Sailor girls, ranked No. 9 in Southern Section Division 2, were led by a 1-2-3 finish up front.
Senior Marley McCullough defended her individual league title, winning in 17:23.8. Track standout Keaton Robar was 10 seconds behind as the runner-up and junior Natalie McCarty rounded out the sweep for Newport Beach in 18:13.2.

Newport Harbor ended with 48 points, edging host Huntington Beach (68) and Fountain Valley (100).
Corona del Mar's boys, under the tutelage of veteran head coach Bill Sumner, handily won the team title with 29 points. The Sea Kings, ranked No. 4 in Southern Section Division 4, have their top seven poised for yet another postseason title run.
Senior Max Douglass defended his individual title, pulling away in the early going, and eventually winning in 15:00.6. Teammate Logan Walsh finished as the runner-up for Corona del Mar in 15:28.8 and Fountain Valley senior Ethan Kwong (15:34.0) was third.
