The most dominant program in the history of the division seeks yet another notch in its belt this Saturday at the CIF State Cross Country Championships.
 
Carmichael Jesuit has possessed the stranglehold at the top of the division the entire season and looks to finish off 2024 with its 10th team title in Division 2.
 
The Marauders, who finished fourth here a year ago and last won a state team title in 2006, are led by junior Isaac Abbott, the Sac Joaquin Section individual champion.

Southern Section winner Glendora enters the meet ranked number two. The Tartans finished fifth at Woodward Park a year ago and have Dylan Flores up front.

Matilda Torres of Madera scored an astonishing 24 points to win the Central Section. Junior Benjamin Fernandez led the Toros as a runner-up finisher in the section meet in 15:19.

Individually, defending champion Aydon Stefanopoulos of Los Gatos is fresh off of a Central Coast Section victory, edging Yosef Bethan of Piedmont Hills (14:51 to 14:55).
 
Trey Caldwell of Concord De La Salle is unbeaten this spring, including a victory in the Division 1-2 team sweepstakes race in 14:46 at the 76th Mt. SAC Invitational, and is looking to capture his first state title following a fourth-place finish last season.
 
Tyler Daillak (Paso Robles) won the Central Section in 14:55, with Southern Section winner Griffin Kushen (Tesoro) logging 14:43 on the state meet course at the Clovis Invite last month. The Titans senior was sixth year last November.
