CIF State XC Championships Recap - Boys Division 1

The Golden State’s largest division produced firsts in both the individual and team races Saturday at Woodward Park.

Clovis North Conor Lott became the only athlete for coach Jason Lineau to win an individual state boys title, while Irvine Beckman earned their first team prize.

Lott moved up from fifth in the final mile to win in 15:04.4, just ahead of Arrin Sagiraju of Dougherty Valley (15:06.2) and Luke Sanders of Buchanan (15:06.5).

Beckman (139 points) edged San Jose Bellarmine Prep (154), Redondo Beach Redondo Union (157) and Mission Viejo Trabuco Hills (162) for the victory.

The Patriots managed a total team effort, with an amazingly narrow 26.8 second gap from runners 1-5.
