12/03/2024

Riverside Woodcrest Christian senior Eyan Turk wanted a repeat performance in the state’s smallest schools division . . . and he got just that!

D5 Boys Eyan Turk (Woodcrest Christian, 11/23/2024)

The defending champion blistered the final mile to win in 14:32.5, pulling away from Menlo School’s Landon Pretre (14:38.8), as both athletes ran faster than the previous division record of 14:51.0 achieved in 2021 by Francis Parker's Kenan Pala.

Pretre’s effort led a landslide victory for the Knights. He was the first of five across the line under 16 minutes as Menlo (28 points) easily outdistanced runners-up Viewpoint (118).

Menlo eclipsed the record for lowest point total by the championship team of 29 points, established in 1996 by McFarland.
