The girls' high school session will showcase some of the top runners in the state. In the fastest section of the girls' 3200m, Rylee Blade (10:02 PR), a multiple-time national and state qualifier, holds the top seed in an incredibly competitive field. Blade is coming off an impressive performance at Nike Indoor Nationals. Also competing in the 3200m are Abigail Errington (10:17 PR) from South Pasadena and Hayden Kroger (11:09 PR), who will be racing on her home track at JSerra.
In the girls’ mile, recent University of Colorado commit Holly Barker will headline the first section. Barker, the CIF-SS champion and state runner-up in cross country, recently clocked a 10:21 in the 3200m.
The Women’s Elite 1500m will feature three competitors from Valor Track Club, based in South Orange County, CA. Among them is Sam Huerta, a CSUF alum with PRs of 2:03 in the 800m and 4:18 in the 1500m. On the men's side, University of Wisconsin alum Olin Hacker (3:40 PR) will compete in the elite section of the 1500m. Hacker was the runner-up at the 2024 U.S. Indoor National Championships in the 3000m.
In the SPIKE heat of the women's 10K, Saucony athlete Katie Camarena will return to her hometown of San Juan Capistrano to compete. Camarena, a UC Santa Barbara and Portland State alum, will be joined in the men’s SPIKE 10K by fellow UCSB alum Nick Randazzo.
Some of the world's best athletes are set to compete in the prestigious TOKYO section of Sound Running’s THE TEN. Defending champion Elise Cranny, one of the greatest American distance runners of all time, will return for the TOKYO 10K. A four-time national champion and the American record holder in the indoor 5000m, Cranny will be joined by former teammates Vanessa Fraser, Ella Donaghu, and Emily Infeld—each accomplished athletes in their own right. Ethiopian standout and 3K World Champion Lemlem Hailu enters with the fastest PR in the field (29:59).
The men’s TOKYO 10K will feature U.S. Olympian Graham Blanks, as well as Adrian Wildschutt, the South African national champion and current world No. 9 in the 10K. Also competing is Dillon Maggard, best known as the Blue Jeans Mile record holder.
With an incredible lineup of high school, collegiate, and professional talent, this event promises to be a thrilling showcase of elite distance running.
